The Roman Catholic church of Sacred heart in Lille is located at the junction of Rue de Solferino and Rue Nationale .
It was built in Neo - Gothic style in 1875 and 1898 by Jules Batigny .As most Gotic and Neo -Ghotic churches it on a cross plan with shallow transept - nave , long presbytery, and small additional chapels to each side of it .It has a barrel vaults with ribs,beautiful stained glass windows with stone surrounds, tracery and subdividing moulions.
The churche's main entrance is subdivided to two openings by reach stne reliefs and create a typical gothic protico.The internal nave is pretty tall and perfectly reflects the original gothic style.
