LONDON - BUCKINGHAM PALACE- GORING HOUSE- ARLINGTON HOUSE

Tha Palace located in the centre of  Westminster district , a former house of duke of Buckingham, today the residence of the Queen and her royal familly and  also a place of the states occasions  -

Built in 1705 to the design of  William Winde , and enlarged in 19th century by John Nash and Edward Blor , who formed three wings around the central courtyard.

The site was occupied previously by two other buildings ; Goring house and  Arlington house - both of them were pulled down and on its place the Buckingham Palace was raised as a main, large  three storey tall block with the additional service wings at the sides .

The last re- shaping of the building took place in early 20th century where the traingular porticos to sides and over the central balcony have been added.

The building is surrounded with a curved cast iron railings with a very decorative reliefs and the statues and the dominating sculpture of the place is teh memorial of  Queen Victoria made of white marble with the fountains.

Whatever people say about the design of the building, one can not deny it is one of the biggest attraction in London -some people dare to say only because of the fact that royal family lives there.
